TransForce Reports Higher 3Q Earnings

TransForce Inc., Canada's largest trucking company, said Friday its third-quarter profit rose to C$25 million as it cut costs to offset weak conditions across the industry, Bloomberg reported.

The Montreal-based company earned 27 cents per share in the three months ended Sept. 30. That’s up from C$17 million, or 19 cents per share, a year ago, Bloomberg reported, citing the company.

Revenue rose to C$460.8 million up from C$418.9 million. TransForce said it was able to turn the 11% rise in revenue into a bigger increase in profits through lower costs, Bloomberg said.

TransForce Inc. is ranked No. 15 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
