Transfix launched a free fleet management service geared toward small and midsize carriers, the company announced Oct. 6.

Fleet Planner is an online tool that gives carriers access to a centralized platform for managing their fleets. The New York-based transportation solutions provider said Fleet Planner is its first standalone software offering such a platform.

“With Fleet Planner, we are excited to give small and midsize carriers, who keep the American economy afloat, access to tools previously only available to larger carriers,” CEO Lily Shen said.

Transfix said many small and midsize carriers face the same challenges as larger competitors but often with budget constraints that make technology solutions inaccessible. Dispatchers instead rely on paper spreadsheets resulting in siloed information and inefficiencies. The company hopes to fill that gap with its new service.

“At a time when the market is more volatile than ever, carriers can turn to Transfix to help streamline operations, reduce administrative costs and scale their businesses,” Shen said.

Fleet Planner provides a single platform for streamlining operations by giving carriers the ability to organize fleets, assign loads and quickly communicate load details with drivers. Loads that are not part of Transfix are still able to be organized in Fleet Planner — Transport Topics
