Trailer Bridge Reports Improved 3Q Income, Revenue

railer Bridge Inc., a provider of integrated trucking, intermodal and marine freight services, reported third-quarter income Wednesday of $1.6 million or 13 cents a share, compared with $655,000 or 6 cents a year earlier.

The company’s revenue’s rose 9.5% to $26.2 million and its operating income rose to $4.3 million from $2 million a year earlier.

Despite the improvement, “our earnings were adversely affected by a decline in car and other specialized shipments and the spike in fuel prices prior to our increased fuel surcharge going into effect,” said John McCown, chairman and chief executive officer.



The Jacksonville, Fla., company also said its business to and from Puerto Rico helped its volume levels and bottom line.
