TPMS Executive Phillip Zaroor Dies at 67

Phillip Zaroor, founder and president of tire pressure monitoring system firm Advantage PressurePro, died June 19. He was 67.

Zaroor founded the company in 1991 and started selling a tire pressure monitoring system to the recreational vehicle and trucking industries after acquiring patent rights for the product.

In 2015, the company launched the PressurePro Pulse, the centerpiece of its tire pressure monitoring system platform, which provides real-time monitoring alerts as well as high-temperature alerts.

Zaroor was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, on Nov. 21, 1948, to Abraham Joseph and Janie Zaroor. He attended Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri, on a boxing scholarship.



He had an 83-5 career record, experiencing his only technical knockout at the hands of boxing legend George Foreman, during a Golden Gloves trial.

He is survived by his wife, Rhita; children Joseph, Jason, Margaux Guzman, Vanessa Hargrave, Nathalie and Zachary; and 15 grandchildren.
