Tornadoes Damage Trucking Facilities in South

This week’s tornado outbreak across the South destroyed damaged or several trucking facilities, company executives said.

Winds blew the roof off a terminal for Boyd Bros. Transportation in Birmingham, Ala. About 10 trailers were also damaged by the tornadoes, which blew across the region Wednesday in a series of strong storms.

Although no one was hurt, about six employees lost their homes, said David Baker, vice president of maintenance.

A terminal for Melton Truck Lines and a facility for Carrier Transicold located across the street were completely destroyed, Baker said.
