ATLANTA — TMW Systems has released an integration that connects its TMT fleet-maintenance software with truck maker Navistar Inc.’s OnCommand Connection remote diagnostics and parts information system.

The product, available now, integrates the parts ordering process so that a maintenance shop using TMT software can place an e-commerce purchase order which is filled via the OnCommand parts system.

TMW Executive Vice President Scott Vanselous said the integration enables joint customers to be more efficient and accurate in parts ordering, while also providing discounts on parts ordered through the e-commerce channel.

Vanselous described the TMT-OnCommand integration as part of a broader movement toward greater collaboration among fleets and original equipment manufacturers.

“The fleet is looking to the OEM for much more guidance,” he said. “The equipment is getting more complex, with a lot more parts, a lot more electronics and software updates.”

TMW made the announcement at a March 4 press conference here at the annual meeting of the Technology & Maintenance Council of American Trucking Associations.
