he Transportation Intermediaries Association and the National Industrial Transportation League have created a new model broker-shipper contract for parties entering a rail intermodal freight transportation agreement.

The Intermodal Broker Shipper Contract covers motor transportation from the shipper to the rail ramp, rail transportation from the origin ramp to the destination ramp and motor transportation from the destination ramp to the receiver, TIA said Friday in a statement.

The model contract also includes optional appendices that cover scope of service provisions, freight and accessorial charges, fuel surcharge programs, and a uniform freight documentation form that can be used as a pick-up and delivery receipt.
