ThermaFreeze Offers New Refrigerant

ThermaFreeze Products Corp., maker of patented dry gel refrigerant products for use in preserving food and other perishables, including in commercial transport, said it has begun distributing its products to major retailers.

“Over the past few weeks, ThermaFreeze Products Corp. has begun initial stocking shipments to several major food and drug retailers, including Duane Reade Drugstores, Shop-Rite and FoodTown, with several other retailers expected to begin accepting product over the coming weeks,” ThermaFreeze, Mobile, Ala., said in a Jan. 4 statement.

ThermaFreeze said its main cooling product is plastic on one side and soft cloth on the other side and can be cut to virtually any size.

“For commercial applications, ThermaFreeze pads are configured to keep payloads within a designated critical temperature range over a specified transit time provided by the shipper,” the company said on its Web site.

The company said it finished development of its new products in 2009 and would seek other commercial outlets this year.
