ruckload company Star Transportation, Nashville, Tenn., said Tuesday it has purchased Camp Transportation of Jacksonville, Fla. Terms were not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Star projects its revenue to rise by 9% to 10%, Beth Franklin, Star’s chief executive officer, told the Nashville City Paper.

The purchase was Star’s second in three years, the City Paper reported. Rick Camp will join Star as the director of operations at the Jacksonville terminal, the paper said.

According to its Web site, Star Transportation is a family-owned and operated, irregular route, dry van truckload carrier.

Founded in 1980, the company operates a fleet of 600 tractors and operates primarily in the eastern half of the country, its Web site said.

Camp Transportation has been in business for 21 years, according to Star.

In 2002, Star bought Mississppi Fast Freight, and it continues to look for more companies to purchase, Franklin told the City Paper.
