TMW Systems Reports Higher 3Q Revenue

TMW Systems, a provider of enterprise management software for the trucking industry, said its revenue in the third quarter increased to $11.3 million, a 27% increase compared with last year.

The gain in revenue relates to the company’s acquisition in September of Maddocks Systems, a Canadian firm that develops software for the trucking industry. (Click here for previous coverage.)

AtRoad Posts $3.6 Million 3Q Loss

Fleet communications technology provider AtRoad Inc. on Thursday reported a net loss of $3.6 million or 6 cents a share for the third-quarter, compared with a net income of 38 million or 61 cents a year earlier.

Revenue rose to $25.1 million, AtRoad said in a statement.

U.S. Xpress to Deploy DriverTech In-Cab Computers Throughout Fleet

Truckload carrier U.S. Xpress Enterprises will deploy DriverTech’s DT4000 TruckPC in-cab computer throughout its fleet.

The DT4000, which runs on WindowsXP, offers drivers access to fuel optimization, GPS navigation, fuel tax and hours of service reporting applications, DriverTech said in a statement.

The system is designed to send and receive communications via satellite, cellular, and Wi-Fi protocols.

Express-1 to Offer Tuition Reimbursement for In-Cab University Participants

Logistics company Express-1 Expedited Solutions said it will offer tuition reimbursement and scholarships for truck drivers participating in Chattanooga State Technical Community College’s InCab University program.

Drivers who are in good standing with Express-1 for more than 90 days will be reimbursed 75% of their tuition if they complete their courses within the required 16 weeks and earn passing grades, said Jeff Curry, Express-1’s vice president of corporate development. The company also offers two scholarships that pay 100% of the drivers’ first class.

InCab University allows truck drivers to participate in accredited college classes by using laptop computers to access online course material from their cabs.Transport Topics
