Southern California Port Truckers Reach Agreement with Australia’s Toll Group

A group of 65 truckers represented by the Teamsters union who work at the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach, Calif., has reached a three-year agreement with Australian logistics firm Toll Group.

The deal gives port drivers a more than 60% hourly wage boost over the life of the contract, the Teamsters said in a statement.

The drivers voted to align with the Teamsters last April, the Los Angeles Daily News reported. Besides higher wages, they will receive subsidized health care and access to a pension plan under the new contract, the newspaper reported, citing union officials.
