Senate Sets Hearing on Foxx Nomination as DOT Secretary

The Senate Commerce Committee will hold a hearing next week to consider the nomination of Anthony Foxx to become the next Transportation Secretary.

The hearing, to be held next Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., was announced by Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), who chairs the committee.

Late last month, President Obama nominated Foxx, who is the mayor of Charlotte, N.C., to succeed Ray LaHood at DOT.

Foxx’s nomination has been generally praised by transportation groups, including American Trucking Associations.
