Senate Energy Bill Includes Biofuels Provisions

he Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee approved its portion of energy legislation that would increase the use of biofuels such as biodiesel and ethanol.

Meanwhile, the Senate Finance Committee continued to work on $11 billion in energy tax incentives that would be incorporated into the bill later.

The bill avoided issues such as drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and liability protection for the manufacturers of the gasoline additive methyl tertiary butyl ether, or MTBE.
