Senate Commerce Committee Launches New Website

The Senate Commerce Committee has a new look for the fall.

The panel, which has jurisdiction over trucking policies, has unveiled a new website designed to be easier to navigate than the old version.

The new site has a scrolling bar on the left side of the page with video and links to press releases and newsfeeds. A calendar is set on the right. Set on the top of the page is a main article, links to background on the committee’s members, a list of its subcommittees, contact details, legislative updates and press releases.

“The internet is a powerful tool and one that the Commerce committee uses regularly to stream hearings and to engage with the public,” Committee Chairman John Thune (R-S.D.) said Oct. 9. “Changes to the committee website will make our work more accessible to the people we serve through features like the nominations matrix to help track the status and disclosures of nominees pending before the panel. I encourage the public to check out our new website and share feedback."
