Seldat Distribution, a warehousing and distribution firm based in South Plainfield, N.J., has added ocean and airfreight forwarding and port drayage to its service offerings following a merger with California-based Oceanstar Express Co.

Terms of the merger were not disclosed, although company officials said the new business will be called Oceanstar by Seldat.

“Oceanstar has been an industry pioneer for many years,” said Daniel Dadoun, CEO of Seldat, in a statement issued March 5. “I’ve followed their operations closely and am looking forward to them joining the Seldat family.”

Paul Conolly, founder and managing director of Oceanstar, said the company will work with Seldat to provide customers with seamless global transportation and sourcing services.

Seldat provides warehousing and distribution services, specializing in retail, food and beverage and project cargo. It operates 1.7 million square feet of space in warehouses in the United States and Canada. The company also has a fleet of 28 tractors, 1 straight truck and 38 trailers, according to registration data on file with the U.S. Department of Transportation.
