SCS Transportation Reports Higher 1Q Revenue, Income

CS Transportation Inc. reported a first-quarter profit of $4 million or 26 cents a share, up from $2.6 million or 17 cents a year earlier.

The company’s revenue rose 12% to $253.3 million, SCS said in a statement. Its operating income rose to $9.2 million from $6.8 million a year earlier.

SCS’s regional less-than-truckload unit, Saia Motor Freight Line, had $167 million in revenue, a 17% increase.



LTL and truckload unit Jevic Transportation reported a 5% revenue increase to $86.3 million, the company said.

SCS is ranked No. 24 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
