Roadrunner Transportation Systems said Monday it has acquired less-than-truckload provider Expedited Freight Systems Inc. for about $10 million.

Last year, Kenosha, Wis. based EFS generated about $19 million in revenue, Roadrunner said.

The deal “expands our Midwest regional overnight service offering,” said Roadrunner CEO Mark DiBlasi.

Roadrunner recently acquired two Nebraska-based truckload carriers for about $24 million.

Roadrunner is ranked No. 32 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
