Are we moving past a period of confrontation between freight carrier modes and entering a golden age of cooperation in intermodal transportation? That's the question TT senior features writer and LiveOnWeb host Dan Bearth had for our panelists as we unveiled the Top 50 Global Freight Carriers rankings in a Sept. 16 program.

Our guests were Mark Holden, CEO of A&R Logistics; Jim Hertwig, CEO of Florida East Coast Railway; and Curtis Whalen, ATA's Executive Director of the Intermodal Motor Carriers Conference. TT senior reporter Rip Watson also joined the panel.

The program also featured segments of an interview with Michael Scheid, senior analyst at SJ Consulting Group, which compiled the list for Transport Topics. The full interview with Scheid can be viewed here.

The Top 50 Global Freight Carriers list is available here, and complete coverage appears in the Sept. 21 issue of Transport Topics and will be online at ttnews.com that week.
