Red Dot Agrees to Purchase Heating, A/C Maker JBAR

Red Dot, which makes heating and air-conditioning systems for trucks and other heavy vehicles, said it will purchase JBAR A/C, which makes that equipment for construction and material-handling customers.

Terms were not disclosed in the announcement made last week by Red Dot, which said JBAR will retain its brand name, management and employees.

“This acquisition strengthens our manufacturing and distribution presence in the eastern U.S. and Canada and expands our family of HVAC unit kits,” said Randy Gardiner, Red Dot’s CEO and chairman. “With its focus on heavy-duty markets and reputation for quality and engineering, JBAR is a perfect complement for Red Dot.”

Red Dot intends to increase production capacity at JBAR to meet growing demand, according to the buyer’s statement. The acquisition is expected to be complete by Sept. 1.
