Qualcomm's Wireless Unit President Chris Wolfe to Resign
hris Wolfe resigned as president of Qualcomm Inc.’s wireless business unit and was replaced by Joan Waltman, the company’s vice president of engineering, Qualcomm said Wednesday.
The move was effective Monday, Qualcomm said. Wolfe, who was president of Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions for four years, said he will retire but remain with Qualcomm through the end of August.
QWBS serves the trucking industry through the company’s OmniTracs mobile communications software and T2 TrailerTracs trailer-tracking system.
Company officials told Transport Topics in December that Qualcomm had about a 65% market share of the in-cab communications market and was working on a successor to OmniTracs
In early March, Qualcomm Inc. named Paul Jacobs, son of the company’s founder Irwin Jacobs, its next chief executive, effective July 1.
