Qualcomm Inc.’s profit fell 9% in its fiscal fourth quarter, the Associated Press reported.
Profit fell to $803 million, or 48 cents per share in the quarter ended Sept. 27, compared with $878 million, or 52 cents, last year.
Revenue fell 19% to $2.7 billion as demand for the mobile phone technology it licenses and the chips it makes fell, AP reported.
For the full fiscal year, profit dropped 50% to $1.6 billion, or 95 cents a share, from $3.2 billion, or $1.90 in fiscal 2008. Revenue fell 7% to $10.4 billion.
Qualcomm makes computer applications for the trucking industry, including communications and trailer-tracking systems.
