he Bush administration may make a push for fewer regulations on business, including more flexible pollution standards, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

The Office of Management and Budget is leading an effort that could start this week, with a goal of improving the overall climate for U.S. business and manufacturing, the Journal said.

Some of the issues that could be addressed include revising environmental rules on what constitutes hazardous waste, the paper said.

The administration may attempt to make many of the changes administratively through regulations rather than going through Congress, the Journal said.
