Port of Los Angeles Container Volume Rises 7.8% in May

The Port of Los Angeles said import container volume rose 7.8% in May from a year ago.

Loaded imported containers rose to 351,403 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units, and outbound containers rose 2.3% to 158,473 TEUs.

Year-to-date volume is up 8.2% from the same period last year, to 3.3 million total TEUs, the port said.

The Port of Los Angeles and neighboring Port of Long Beach make up the largest U.S. container port complex.
