Port of Long Beach Gets $1.34 Million EPA Grant

The Port of Long Beach announced it has received a $1.34 million grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for cleaner diesel technology.

The port said it will use the funds to retrofit 11 gantry cranes with diesel particulate filters or exhaust treatment technologies.

The grant will fund technologies that will reduce an estimated 33 tons of particulate matter, 25 tons of nitrogen oxide and 733 tons of carbon dioxide over the life of the equipment, the port said.
