Peterbilt introduced a right-hand stand-up configuration for its Model 320 garbage truck, which the company says continues to gain in popularity.

The new drive option includes lowered entry step and selector switch to activate the right-hand drive station as well as pivot-style seat for stowage during stand-up operations.

The Model 320 was redesigned last year with a new interior, including enhanced instrument panel and increased visibility.

“Industrywide reception of the new Model 320 has been outstanding, and we’re pleased to be expanding its versatility by offering it in a right-hand stand-up configuration,” Robert Woodall, director of sales and marketing, said in a statement.

“Refuse collection routes require the operator to enter and exit the vehicle numerous times during his or her shift,” he added. “The stand-up configuration makes ingress and egress easier and results in less driver fatigue.”
