Patriot Reports Higher 2Q Transportation Revenue

atriot Transportation Holding Inc. said late Wednesday that net earnings for its second quarter ended March 31 were $1.5 million or 51 cents, compared with $6.9 million or $2.34 a year earlier.

Transportation revenues were $27.5 million, Patriot said, an increase of 13.2% over the same quarter a year ago.

Net income from the previous second quarter had included $5.7 million in income from discontinued operations related to the sale of real estate, Patriot said in a statement.

Patriot operates tank carrier Florida Rock & Tank Lines Inc., flatbed hauler SunBelt Transport Inc. and a real estate business.
