A thick layer of ice kept parts of major highways closed in Pennsylvania Friday morning, a day after hundreds of drivers became stranded on a hilly stretch of Interstate 78 that was hit by this week’s big snow and ice storm, the Associated Press reported.Drivers were angry that state police did not close entrance ramps to I-78 until late Thursday, more than 24 hours after cars and trucks started getting caught on the road, AP said. Police also closed sections of I-81 and I-80, to help keep the area clear. Some truckers were allowing motorists fuel and food from their trucks to help them keep warm, CNN reported Friday.(Click here for previous coverage.)
