Pacer's Profits Increase in First Quarter

acer International Inc. said late Tuesday net income for its fiscal first quarter ended April 8 was $11.4 million or 30 cents per share, compared with $9.4 million or 25 cents a year earlier.

Revenues increased 10.2% to $42.6 million, the company said in a statement.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Don Orris said it was the company's strongest first during in the last five years and reflected "operating improvements in both our retail and wholesale segments despite a January rail embargo of Southern California locations due to severe weather, and continuing rail service issues."



Pacer is ranked No. 14 the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies.
