Pacer’s Fourth-Quarter Income Increases

Pacer International’s fourth-quarter net income rose as its intermodal revenue increased, but logistics margins declined from a year ago.

Net income rose to $2.2 million or 6 cents a share, from $1.1 million, or 3 cents, a year ago. Sales fell 6.9% to $351.9 million, the company said Thursday.

Intermodal revenue increased 2.5% to $296.9 million and logistics revenue fell 16.1% to $57.3 million.

Full-year net income fell to $4.3 million, or 12 cents per share, from $13.9 million, or 40 cents. Sales fell 4.3% to $1.4 billion.
