Pacer To Deploy 300 Clean Trucks

Pacer International announced last week that its subsidiaries will deploy 230 new clean trucks this month to comply with Southern California port regulations.

Pacer will lease the trucks to its network of owner-operators, it said.

The trucks will help the carrier's customers to avoid fees imposed by the porst of Los Angeles and Long Beach under the Clean Truck Program, the company said. Pacer trucks are already compliant with all other regulations from those ports, including the RFID rule.

Pacer said that it may add 150 additional clean trucks to its fleet as market conditions warrant.

Pacer is ranked No. 14 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
