OMB Streamlines Review Process for East Coast Port Modernization Projects

The Obama administration said it will streamline the permit and review process for five East Coast port modernization projects.

The announced projects are the first of 43 infrastructure projects that will be expedited by executive order, the White House said Thursday.

The permit and review process for the infrastructure projects will be streamlined by the Office of Management and Budget as part of an executive order signed in March.

The selected port projects are the Port of Jacksonville, Fla.; the Port of Miami; the Port of Savannah, Ga.; the Port of New York/New Jersey, and the Port of Charleston, S.C.

Moving the projects forward will drive job growth and strengthen the economy, the White House said.
