Old Dominion’s 2Q Profit Rises

Old Dominion Freight Line said Thursday its second-quarter net income rose to $47.8 million, or 83 cents per share, from $39.4 million, or 69 cents, a year ago.

Revenue jumped 12.8% to $541.5 million, the less-than-truckload carrier said. Total tons rose 9% and shipments increased 8.6%.

Old Dominion Freight Line is ranked No. 14 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
