OIA Global has acquired American Cargo Express, a company based in Union, New Jersey, that provides domestic and international freight forwarding, warehousing and trade management services.
The move expands OIA’s footprint in Canada and adds to the company’s global network with new locations in Europe, Asia and South America, said Charlie Hornecker, CEO of OIA Global in Indianapolis.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
American Cargo Express President Rick Trizano said, “OIA’s ability to manage customers’ procurement and sourcing needs will dovetail very well with ACE’s supply chain services.”
OIA Global’s employee-driven culture also makes the transaction “more meaningful,” said Trizano, who started ACE with Chris Murray in 1988. The company employs more than 200 people in 11 offices.
OIA also started in 1988 and employs 1,200 people in 69 offices in 27 countries. The company ranks No. 37 on Transport Topics’ Top Airfreight Forwarders list and is one of six companies controlled by Lacy Diversified Industries.
