Navistar International Corp. Thursday appointed Steve Ostarello to be vice president of its powertrain product development unit.
Ostarello has been with Navistar more than 25 years in the company’s engine engineering division, including his most recent assignment as general manager, powertrain product development.
He has been leading the company’s powertrain product development organization on an interim basis since the post was vacated earlier this year.
“Steve brings a wealth of knowledge about our truck and engine businesses, technical expertise and high standards for performance along with a broad view of our marketplace to his new role,” Ramin Younessi, Navistar’s group vice president of integrated product development and strategy, said in a statement.
Navistar, Warrenville, Ill., builds International brand trucks and MaxxForce engines, along with school buses and military vehicles.
