Heavy-duty component supplier Meritor Inc. launched an extended warranty program, with two options, for its aftermarket wheel-end products.

Troy, Michigan-based Meritor said the first option offers coverage for three years or 300,000 miles when the customer purchases and installs Meritor hubcaps and premium Meritor wheel seals as well as its Temper-Loc spindle nuts.

Also, customers will receive a five-year, unlimited-mile warranty by purchasing and installing those same three wheel-end products along with its PlatinumShield II-coated brake shoes, the company said.

“The advantages of Meritor's unique portfolio of wheel-end products become even stronger when products are installed together,” Pete Freeman, Meritor’s aftermarket product manager, said in a release.

Customers can go online to MeritorPartsWarranty.com to register products purchased as part of an extended warranty package, Meritor said.

The registration process requires customers to provide vehicle and part number identification along with the installation date of the associated parts, the company said. Registration creates a unique confirmation code that can be used to instantly confirm extended coverage if future warranty assistance is required.

Also, the site serves as a portal to register the Doctor Preload wheel-end adjustment tool for warranty coverage, Meritor said.
