Maryland Approves Truck Toll Increase

The Maryland Transportation Authority has approved increased truck tolls its seven toll facilities, the Associated Press reported.

Toll increases for large trucks and other multi-axle vehicles will range from $2 to $13, but multi-axle vehicles making more than 100 trips per month will receive a 10 % discount, AP said.

E-Z Pass customers will pay monthly fees under the plan approved Thursday, and prices will increase new and replacement transponders.

The new charges are expected to generate about $60 million per year for the agency, AP said.
