Marten’s Reports Record Income for 4Q, Year

Marten Transport’s fourth-quarter and full-year profit rose to a company record on strong truckload and logistics revenue, the company said.

Net income for the quarter rose to $7.72 million, or 35 cents per share, from $7.66 million, or 35 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue for the quarter rose to $166.4 million from $158.3 million a year earlier.

Truckload net income for the quarter slipped to $10.8 million from $11.2 million, while logistics income rose to $2.45 million from $1.8 million.



Full-year net income rose to $27.3 million, or $1.23 per share, from $24.3 million, or $1.10, a year earlier. Revenue rose to $638.5 million, from $603.7 million in 2011.

Marten Transport is ranked No. 41 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
