Marten’s 1Q Income Declines

Refrigerated truckload carrier Marten Transport said its first-quarter income fell 9.1% to $4.60 million or 21 cents a share, from $5.1 million or 23 cents a year earlier.

Operating revenue from trucking and logistics operations rose 9.9% to $131.4 million from a year earlier, the company said late Monday.

Truckload revenue rose 4.7% to $118.1 million, while logistics revenue including brokerage and intermodal operations jumped 98.4% to $13.3 million.

Marten is ranked No. 53 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
