Letter to the Editor: Better Truck Stops

aving read your feature on truck stops, I think that more of them need to offer home-cooked meals instead of just a Burger King or Subway sandwich. I’m not saying those two restaurants aren’t good, but when you’re out on the road a person needs good, healthy food, not just a burger and fries or some other sandwich.

There are times when I would love to have a bowl of beans and cornbread. Also, a good breakfast gets us off to a good start, although this is only one opinion.

I also think that showers need to be extra clean. I know you get some people in there that just trash them, but for those of us who want a nice place to shower, we do our best to treat them as though we are at home.

Some of the places where I have showered are in rooms so hot that when you come out you’re already sweating. It’s as though you haven’t taken a shower at all. I suggest it should be about 70 degrees, if possible.
