Landstar System Promotes Executives

andstar System said Thursday that its Landstar Express America unit President Ron Stanley was named chief operating officer of Landstar System and that Landstar Logistics unit president Jim Handoush was named president of its global logistics unit.

Stanley will be responsible for all operating company functions including those of the Landstar Carrier Group and Landstar Global Logistics, the company said in a statement.

The company launched Landstar Global Logistics last August, comprised of Landstar Express America and Landstar Logistics, to better position itself as a premium global logistics and transportation provider.

Handoush will be responsible for the development of both global and domestic business as well as launching the company's new warehousing initiative, the company said.

He joined Landstar in 1996 as vice president of finance and administration at Landstar Logistics and served as president of that company since 2004.
