Koch Logistics, an operating division of Stan Koch and Sons Trucking Inc., purchased JBS Logistics and its affiliated companies in a deal announced Dec. 1.

Koch, which is based in Minneapolis, provides third-party logistics for truckload, partial truckload, less-than-truckload, expedited and small-package services. Koch Companies Inc. ranks No. 76 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.

JBS Logistics, which is based in Naperville, Illinois, specializes in warehouse storage and fulfillment, cartage and nationwide truckload delivery.

Alec Gizzi, president and now former JBS owner, will manage the renamed JBS Logistics and Warehousing Inc.

“Sam DiMaio, the other previous shareholder of JBS, and I determined that JBS had reached a point that necessitated partnering with a larger entity to ensure our growth for the next 30 years,” Gizzi said in a statement. “Koch’s culture and core values are the same as ours, and we felt they were an excellent choice to partner with. I am excited for the growth opportunities that exist for JBS Logistics and Warehousing Inc. and our dedicated employees.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Alec and Sam have built a very successful operation that we believe is an excellent addition to the portfolio of companies which Koch operates,” Koch Logistics General Manager Jeff Faust said. “We are very excited to have them join us and look forward to the continued success and growth of the new JBS Logistics and Warehousing Inc.”
