Ken Rageth, Wyoming’s Grand Champion, Is Also a Team Player

Ken Rageth of FedEx Freight won the Flatbed to become Grand Champion at the 2019 Wyoming Truck Driving Championships.

Who: Winners from nine categories at the state level have advanced to the national competition, where a Grand Champion will be crowned



What: Contestants are judged on a written examination and their driving skills

When: Aug. 14-17

Where: Pittsburgh

In fact, Rageth’s name was all over the leaderboard. He also won the High Individual for Driving award, and took the team award along with FedEx Freight teammates Derek Gorrell and Tim Vanfossen.

Gorrell had the highest score in Written Exam. He placed first in 4-Axle in 2018, and was the state’s top finisher at nationals last year, placing seventh in the category in Columbus, Ohio.

Mike Roberts of Walmart Transportation won the 4-Axle and was tops in Pre-Trip Inspection.

Forrest Peters of Airgas USA, the Straight Truck winner for the second consecutive year, also was tops in Personal Interview.

Steven Jenkins of Fremont Beverage won in 5-Axle after winning in Flatbed last year.

Keith Egbert of FedEx Freight was Rookie of the Year.
