KAG Completes Acquisition of Fort Transfer Co.

The Kenan Advantage Group Inc. announced it completed the acquisition of Fort Transfer Co. in Morton, Ill.

As part of the transaction, KAG will acquire 100 tractors, 249 trailers, 158 drivers-independent contractors and 45 operational personnel, according to the company.

North Canton, Ohio-based Kenan Advantage Group ranks No. 22 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.



The acquisition “provides us entrance into the bulk storage and transportation of agricultural herbicides,” Rebecca White, vice president of corporate development at KAG, said in a release. “It also provides us with expanded opportunities within Isocyanates with numerous end markets ranging from household goods, automotive, medical, industrial sealants and adhesives.”

Fort Transfer’s operations include one of the largest bulk storage facilities in the Midwest with 2.6 million gallons of temperature-controlled capacity, and two satellite locations in Beaumont, Texas, and St. Gabriel, La. — Transport Topics
