Truckload carrier J.B. Hunt Transport Services said Tuesday its third-quarter net income rose 19% to $60.3 million, or 47 cents a share, from $50.8 million, or 38 cents, a year ago.
Revenue rose 12% to $996 million, while operating income gained 11% to $101 million, the company said in a statement.
Trucking segment operating income plunged 73% to $2.5 million, while revenue fell 18% to $171 million.
Intermodal segment operating income jumped 21% to $74 million, while revenue gained 24% to $532 million.
Its dedicated contract carriage business’s operating income rose 10% to $27 million, while revenue rose 3% to $244 million.
