.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc.’s audit committee decided to change accountants for the truckload carrier, hiring Ernst & Young and firing KPMG, the Springdale (Ark.) Morning News reported Thursday.

The change was announced Monday in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the paper said.

The filing said there were not any reportable events or accounting irregularities that led J.B. Hunt to change accountants, the Morning News reported.

KPMG had been J.B. Hunt's accounting firm since 1982, the paper said.

J.B. Hunt is ranked No. 9 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
