Jack Cooper Transport said that it has promoted Robert Griffin, the company’s president, to chief executive officer.
Griffin joined the company in July, shortly after Innovative Equity Partners, owner of Active Transportation, acquired the car hauler and merged its operations with Active, the company said in a statement.
Michael Riggs, chairman of Jack Cooper, credits Griffin with many improvements in the company. He has brought the company’s employment to 750, from 400 when he was hired.
Jack Cooper has also returned to profitability under Griffin’s leadership, the company said.
Griffin was most recently senior vice president of Leggett & Platt, a manufacturer of components for commercial fixtures, residential furnishings and industrial products.
