ISM Services Index Rises to 62.2 in June

The U.S. services sector grew in June, according to the Institute for Supply Management, which released its services index Wednesday.

The index, which measures non-manufacturing companies, rose to 62.2 in June from a two-year low of 58.5 in May. ISM indices are set so that figures over 50 indicate expansion.

The services sector includes transportation, retail sales and financial services. The sector accounts for nearly two-thirds of the U.S. gross domestic product.
