Integrated Freight Corp. has acquired SC Trucking Inc., a small trucking company based in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, for an undisclosed amount of cash and stock.

Integrated CEO David Fuselier said the deal gives the company a bigger presence in the northeastern United States. It also adds another niche carrier to a group that includes truckload carrier American Transportation & Logistics in Windsor Locks, Connecticut; Morris Transportation, a hauler of general commodities, pulp and paper based in Hamburg, Arkansas; and Smith Systems Transportation Inc., a hauler of hazardous waste based in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

“SCT is dedicated primarily to transporting the region’s scrap metal commodities,” Fuselier said in a statement Feb. 3. “Although we anticipate that the recycled metals market will continue to decline in the foreseeable future, we are confident that SCT’s growing market share will be rewarded with the recovery of this commodity market.”

Integrated President Hank Hoffman said that SCT has historically generated more than $1 million in revenue and recently became a dedicated recycling provider to one of the largest retail chains in the country.
