Initial Jobless Claims Rise 1,000 for Week

irst-time U.S. jobless claims edged up 1,000 last week to 317,000, the Labor Department said Thursday.

The level was below economists’ forecasts of an increase to 320,000 new claims, Bloomberg reported.

The less-volatile four-week moving average fell to 315,750, the lowest in six weeks.
