Haven Adds Track-and-Trace Capabilities to Online System

Haven, which provides worldwide information services for shippers and carriers, has expanded its online booking system to include track and trace capabilities that are intended to create a full-service automated freight procurement platform.

The spot market booking system for ocean and air services is being expanded through automatic identification, or AIS technology, said the statement from Haven, which has headquarters in San Francisco and Singapore.

“Track and trace gives our customers supply chain visibility, while automated procurement enables customers to focus on their core business instead of sourcing freight,” CEO Matthew Tillman said. “Haven is committed to using technology in new ways to help our customers to improve margins and operate more effectively.”

The additional services are meant to help companies lower operating and overhead costs for shippers while obtaining the lowest possible freight rates. It also is intended to help shippers obtain capacity more easily from logistics providers.
